We’re really looking forward to the party on Saturday (Nov 8th), and it’s going to be great (see below for what’s happening – there’s more than before!), but we’re hearing from some of you that one or two things are making it difficult for you to come, so we’ve done something about it!
• Transport: if you need a lift, we can help organise lift-shares. Contact email@example.com if you need a lift or if you can offer one out to Haslingfield. (The address is Cambridge Organic Food Co, Penn Farm Studios, Haslingfield, CB23 1JZ)
• That £10 donation: we really don’t want people not to come because they can’t afford the suggested £10 donation! Of course we want to cover our costs, but donate what you can afford, even if it’s £2.
• Can people just turn up on the night? Obviously we would like you to book because it makes it easier on the catering (less food waste!), but if you don’t know in advance, just turn up at 7pm on the night!
As well as the things you already know about (delicious vegan feast from Curly Kate Cafe, live music from Beth Walthew and her band Makossa (great for dancing to) and beer from Black Bar Brewery for sale), we’ve now got the fabulous Steak and Honour van to sell the most sustainable burgers around – made from Cambridge’s own CamCattle beef (the cows that wander around the commons) and Cob’s Bakery buns (local flour). (The vegan food is part of the package, but the burgers and the beer will be for sale.) There will also be the chance to get some of Hodmedod’s East Anglian beans and peas – if you haven’t tried their crunchy nibbles yet, now is your chance!
