Set up by volunteers, the Cambridge Edible Garden is a small allotment located on the site of Murray Edwards College. The garden is run by and for any member of the public, including but not limited to University students and staff.
The project aims to provide an opportunity to learn about growing produce and share skills, to introduce people to alternative and sustainable ways of getting vegetables and to be a generally relaxing and fun experience. The community atmosphere extends into the Edible Garden’s other events, such as film showings, dinners and music.
Cambridge Edible Garden hope to develop their work by putting another central Cambridge space to similar use. In order to find out more about how to get involved with their projects, as well as for details of weekly opportunities to volunteer in the garden, head over to their website or Facebook page.
