Cam Valley Orchards have been growing fruit in Cambridgeshire since 1864 and started a seasonal farm shop in 1968, which sells a range of varieties that are grown in the orchards. They grow over 100 varieties of orchard fruit, including over 50 different types of apple – dating back to the Victorian period – and 30 different varieties of plums. They have recently started growing a variety of cider apples to enable them to produce a range of real ciders. All of their fruit is allowed to fully ripen on the tree and is therefore picked when the flavour is at its best. They also produce their own range of home made chutneys and jams.
Why we like them: CamValley Orchards provide an opportunity to buy locally grown seasonal produce right at the source!
Their shop is open from July/August until February, Thursday to Saturday from 9am until 6pm.
