The Liberated Feast

Yes its back, the tasty event raising awareness of GLobAl FOod WaSTe! The 4th Liberated Feast creates another beautiful Vegan banquet for over 100 lovely people from surplus produce that would otherwise be wasted. Produce sourced from Farms, Markets, Veg box schemes, Local producers, Allotment holders, Foraging and Retailers.
The 4th Liberated Feast invites The Cambridge Humanitarian Centre to Launch their 2014 Cambridge International Development Report! The Humanitarian Centre’s 5th annual report focuses on our global food futures and what we all can do to ensure that there is enough health food for everyone in the world, everyday. The report will be launched with a wine reception from 5.30pm and marketplace before the feast, where you can meet Humanitarian Centre members and community groups working for fairer, more sustainable food production and consumption. There will be guest speakers throughout the evening.

Local musicians and entertainers will compliment the delicious food with their fabulous sounds and sights, and a small market area will host local food and organisation stalls.
In parallel to all this proceeds from the event go to supporting a school feeding project on for the Milimani School on Kenyas Rusinga Island. Raising funds to build, staff and support a kitchen to provide the children’s entire daily nutrition and create a school permaculture food growing space. The cost is £5000 and so far they have raised £1000 and are already supporting the schools breakfast feeding programme.
The Liberated Feast Project is also developing an educational programme, working with schools and communities to explore the global food system and create their own Liberated Feasts.
