This is the season where good weather is promised and it is great to be out and about. Here are some dates for you diaries of festivals and Community Days in and around Cambridge, taking place in September and October. Take these opportunities of autumn weekends to enjoy the perks of fun activities, independent businesses and often local food. In addition, at each of these events Cambridge Sustainable Food (CSF) will have an information stall, where you can learn more about sustainable cooking and eating and the various projects linked to CFS. Alternatively you could volunteer at these, and help out behind the stall.

With activities including skips where residents can bring unwanted objects to be recycled, ‘swap tables’ for second hand things run by the City Recycling Champions, as well as barbecues and other refreshments these are days for the community to come together, and often share local produce as well. Cambridge Sustainable Food will be holding interactive information stalls at the upcoming Community Days, with activities for children and information for adults, Love Food Hate Waste Freebies like spaghetti portion measurers and lots of great recipes.

Cambridge Sustainable Food – Stalls and volunteering
At both the community days and the food festivals, CFS will be holding a stall to spread the word about how people can create healthy meals in a sustainable way. At the stalls there are lots of resources for you to find out how to buy, cook and eat food that is good for us and good for the planet, with questionnaires, quizzes, and recipes to give out. There will also be a friendly face to answer questions about eating sustainably and about the various projects in which CSF is involved, as well as freebies related to the Love Food Hate Waste campaign like compost caddies and magnetic reusable to-do lists. So please come find us and have a chat.
Volunteer with us
If you feel that you could help out at these stalls, and are interested in volunteering with CFS at one or even multiple of these events, please visit the get involved page or email Laura at firstname.lastname@example.org.
