Cambridge FoodCycle takes surplus food from local supermarkets and groceries to cook free, delicious and nutritious meals for the local community, and in particular those suffering from food poverty. They currently offer 2 weekly community meals, one at Saturday lunchtime at St Paul’s on Hills Road and one as a family supper on Wednesdays at Barnwell Baptist Church. You can sign up from their website.
“Cambridge Foodcycle offers a practical solution to reducing food waste, by reclaiming food that is good to eat, but that would otherwise be wasted to provide meals for those most in need in the local community. If you’re interested in volunteering at Foodcycle to cook and serve community meals and do your bit to reduce food waste, please visit our website to sign up: www.foodcycle.org.uk” Sophie Billington, volunteer
