St. John’s College Cambridge

One of the largest Colleges in Cambridge, serving around 1300 meals per day, to Students, Fellows and Staff. We procure a lot of our ingredients locally. We were awarded Brain Food Accreditation.

“Sustainable Food is part of the ethos that we have here at St John’s College. We have Green week coming up in November, which includes a superhall with sustainable foods for the students. We will also host a fish sustainable evening. Most of the food that week will be local including bread, cereals and jams. We will be offering carbon reduced meals food. It is very important to us. We have fitted the kitchen with energy saving equipment. We held a Fairtrade Coffee evening with the students and our supplier along with an evening with our sandwich supplier. We have also joined the Sustainable Restaurants Association.” Bill Brogan, Catering and Conference Manager
