Volunteering for Cambridge Sustainable Food
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people and we are always looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly team. There are several Love Food Hate Waste volunteer opportunities with us over the coming months:
• member of stalls team: we will be having over 20 stalls at public events, where we are expecting to talk to hundreds of adults and children. We are developing fun, interactive materials to engage children and have questionnaires and recipe sheets for adults. Some stalls will have free food tastings. Minimum time 2 hours.
• helper at free family cookery workshops in low-income areas of the city
• website content creator (including uploading events regularly using Word Press)
• photographer at events

The Gleaning Network
The Gleaning Network coordinates volunteers, farmers and food redistribution charities in order to salvage the thousands of tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables that are wasted on farms every year across the UK and Europe, and direct this fresh, nutritious food to people in need. Find out more here.
The East England Hub covers Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. You can sign up online.
To get more of a feel for what they did last season, see Gleaning East England @gleaningcambs on twitter. They usually try to coordinate lifts to the farms.
