One of the main ways we communicate the message of sustainable food to the public in the year is through stalls at community events where people can find out what sustainable food means, try some samples and ask us questions. These events are great fun but we do need helpers and we have several of these coming up in June that we are in desperate need of help for.
The events are:
- Thursday, 2nd June 9am – 2 pm. Whitehill Road Community Day.
- Saturday, 11th June 11am – 5pm. Arbury Carnival
- Sunday, 12th June 12am-4 pm. Abbery Big Lunch
- Saturday, 18th June 1pm – 5pm. Chesterton Festival.
- Thursday 30th June 9am – 2 pm. Eskin Road Community Day.
The Whitehill Road Community Day is a chance to talk to local residents. As it’s on a Thursday many of you may be busy that day but if you could spare some time, we really need people as it is happening next week!
On the 11th June, we are at the Arbury Carnival from 11am -5pm. This is a really great fun event with stalls, games, rides, a parade, this year all themed around a beach party! Help out for a while and also enjoy the fun of the fair.
The 12th of June is the Abbey Big Lunch on Dudley Road Recreation ground (12am-4pm). With live music, a BBQ and other food stalls, children’s activities, local organisations and stalls selling produce. It’s an amazing event for building a sense of community in the area.
If you could help for anything from 2 hours to all day, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or use our contact page.
