Food Poverty

The adverse effects of food poverty are increasing; at least 3 million people in the UK have health related problems due to under-nutrition, a large percentage of which are elderly people living alone with poor access to food.   Rising food and fuel prices and an ageing population are major contributory factors.  A threefold increase in food bank use has prompted a call for action from the Trussell Charity, Britain’s largest food bank network.  Read more here
